The first sample is the Tone Poem and this is one of the most effective examples of using the power of the written word to create a poetry pi ece. This poem is a wonderful meditation of how life can be lived even when it seems hopeless. This poem begins with the line 'tired you float on for your lover's note.' The poem is about a man who dies unexpectedly and goes through a series of painful and dark days. His reflection in the mirror is a reflective process, one that is slow and painful and takes time for the reader to understand the events that occur within this person's life. His final verse, 'your life is your story/and the love that you speak/is a voice for me to hear.' In this context, the love and life he speaks are his love for the love he speaks.
